European day of languages

“The annual European Day of Languages will take place on Monday 26 September. With hundreds of activities taking place throughout Europe, this year’s event will demonstrate the creative ways in which languages can be learned. It will be a celebration of Europe’s linguistic diversity and a major part of the campaign to encourage more language learning across the continent.”

We are happy to see that forvo.com is growing and helping people to how to pronounce languages, not only this day but every day.

Visit europa.eu site for more information and check your local information because there are related events in Europe´s major cities.

On this special day I would like to put in a plea for learning Esperanto. It is a planned language which belongs to no one country or group of states.

    Take a look at http://www.esperanto.net

Esperanto works! I’ve used it in speech and writing in a dozen countries over recent years. Esperanto is not one of the 23 official languages of the EU, but it deserves our attention.
